Meet the Management Team at BioTe Veterinary Laboratories

Tiffany Baker BSc (hons) MSc
Laboratory Manager
Tiffany gained her BSc (hons) Equine from Portsmouth University and graduated in 2012. After graduating, she took a year out, working and playing for a polo club before completing her masters degree in Veterinary Microbiology at Surrey University (School of Veterinary Medicine) graduating in 2014.
She was then involved in a research program at The Pirbright Institute to research African Horse Sickness Virus (control measures) and published a paper in 'Journal of Parasites and Vectors' (Baker et al. Parasites & Vectors (2015) 8:604).
Her main interest is in PCR which she has extensive background in, along with serology. Having grown up on a farm, having her own dog and having owned polo ponies, she has a direct interest in all species diagnostics. Tiffany has worked in various large veterinary diagnostic laboratories and has joins BioTe as our Laboratory Manager.

Ellie Wareham BSc (hons) and MRes
Laboratory Technician
Ellie graduated from the University of the West of England in 2019 with a BSc (Honours) in Biological Science and after taking a year out to travel went on to complete a Master of Research degree specialising in Microbiology in 2021 from the University of Southampton.
She has worked as a Microbiology Laboratory Assistant and has a particular interest in bacteriology and biofilms.
